Failure: The Key To Success

Story Of My Life: White And Nerdy

This video pretty much sums up my miserable existence on this planet.

Inspirational Dance

This is one of the more inspirational things I've ever seen. Enough to make anyone stop complaining and get to "doing". Enjoy.

A Very Timely Parable

A Parable for Today

A Holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said,
"Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Lord led the Holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the Holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the Holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The Holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the Holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The Holy man said, "I don't understand."

"It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

Three Little Birds

"Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"

Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', ("This is my message to you-ou-ou:")

Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry (don't worry) 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"

Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!
Every little thing gonna be all right. Don't worry!"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry!
"'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right" - I won't worry!
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, oh no!
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!

Is Life Just A Giant Computer Simulation?

If so, just hope this is not running in Windows. :-)

Oscar Smoscar

Sorry, but the late Heath Ledger can't hold a candle to Cesar Romero!!

Enjoy...

The One Thing

Since starting, I've become a fanatic!

What is it?

If I could suggest one thing to improve your life, it would be this: Morning meditation.

I can't explain exactly why. Can't put my finger on it. But since starting morning meditation, my quality of life has improved. Even when depression hits (which is a physical thing), I snap out of it in a matter of minutes! It hit me yesterday and an hour later I was doing great.

Am I connecting with my Creator? Am I drawing from my subconscious? Am I connecting with the Universe and all that is?

I don't know for sure. I only know it's been life-changing.

Go. Buy. Read ... The Artist's Way.

All The Best,

Heartwarming

This is one of the best things I've seen in a long time.

Kudos to the iron workers.

When Coding Gets Fun

You get your framework all worked out and you get into this sort of flow where you can add stuff to the database and/or classes and GUI really fast and POW ... coding is fun now!

Whatever

I'm just ... not ... caring that much right now.

I'm sure it will pass. But after work sleep work sleep work sleep for 30+ years you start to just not care too much. You just get tired.

Best Chips

These potato chips, which I'm munching on right now, are the official snack of Air Force One!

On The Beach in Jamaica

They would stroll up and down the beach, playing for tips.

Everything about our Winter Vacation 2009 was just perfect.

House Menu

On Sundays, I make up our menu for the week prior to going grocery shopping. I love to cook and love to shop for food. Love it.

We then print up the menu in a nice typeface, frame it, and place it on the island in the kitchen. Makes it special.

T-shirt for Sam

During our Winter Vacation 2009, we got this for our grandson!!

What I Received For Valentine's Day!

*whispering* I bought it for myself.

Delicious sipping

Looking to buy a home rowing machine

I'm tired of a sore butt from riding the exercise bike. I thought about getting a recumbent, but truth be told I love rowing.

I'm ready to "pull the trigger" and get the Concept2 Model D home rower.

Have any suggestions or comments?

I found one nearby on Craigslist; they're asking $675, I'll offer $500 and we'll go from there.

Fortune Cookie Tells The Truth!

Rather obvious, isn't it? ... That someone at the fortune cookie factory knows me.

Jus' sayin'.

Amazing Grace

I'm listening to Amazing Grace.

I cannot listen to that wonderful old hymn without getting teary-eyed.

Jail Time!

Someone needs to go to jail for a long time for this inhuman decision.

How can someone be so callous and greedy? What ... does he think he's a Wall Street banker??

I Want My Fence!

I want my fence along the U.S.-Mexico border!

Where's my fence??!!!

Six

Here's a list of the teams that have won six Super Bowls:

Pittsburgh Steelers

That's it! That's the list!!

Great advice from Brother Greg

A pastor I studied under, Greg Estep, once gave the following great advice:

Ninety percent of your problems can be solved by a good night's sleep!

So true. Great advice.

And I Like This Picture

Patti Likes This Picture

She took this as I was coming back from a swim. She likes it -- I hate it.

Our Patio

The patio of our cottage in Jamaica. Spent every morning here, having Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, fresh fruit and yogurt. Did some reading and enjoyed a few cigars here as well.

Notice the wooden blinds on the left. The room "walls" we made up of these blinds, with no windows -- only screens. Made for a wonderful, almost open-air environment.

I'm Lovin' The Garden Environment...

... at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. Can hardly wait to go back, first week of February, 2010.
